About Fraunhofer-Institut fur Keramische Technologien und Systeme IKTS

For more than 30 years, Fraunhofer IKTS has been demonstrating the potential of ceramic materials in a steadily growing range of applications. The “Materials and Components” department is involved in the development and preparation of functional ceramic materials and their application in functional elements.Traditional fields are thick film technology, glass development, high-temperature fuel cells (SOFCs), and high-temperature chemical sensors.​​​​​​​The “Smart Materials and Systems” department deals with the development of dielectric functional ceramics as well as their component and integration technologies for components, microsystems, and structural parts.
