Tessolve Scales to Meet Demand from India's Expanding Chip Packaging Cluster

Tessolve Semiconductor, a Bengaluru-based company specialising in semiconductor test engineering services, is executing a capacity expansion in response to growing demand from India's nascent OSAT cluster and from fabless chip startups requiring silicon validation and production test development support. Tessolve offers a range of services along the semiconductor test lifecycle including design for test consultation, automated test equipment programming, test hardware and interface board design, device characterisation and silicon debug, and volume production test services. The company's expansion involves hiring additional test engineers, adding automated test equipment from Teradyne and Advantest to its Bengaluru laboratory, and building out production test capacity at partner OSAT locations.

Service Portfolio and NXP Partnership

Tessolve's test capabilities span digital, analogue, mixed-signal, RF, and power semiconductor device categories. The company is a certified test partner for NXP Semiconductors, which involves validated process flows and equipment calibration standards that allow Tessolve to provide production test services for NXP devices under NXP's quality management framework. This certification is a significant commercial reference because NXP's product portfolio spans automotive microcontrollers, security elements, and connectivity chips that are widely designed into Indian automotive and industrial products. Other customers include Indian fabless startups that need test programme development support for their first tape-outs, where Tessolve's experience across device types allows faster test program bring-up than a first-time chip company could achieve internally.

India OSAT Growth as the Primary Demand Driver

The expansion of OSAT operations at Tata Electronics Jagiroad, Kaynes Sanand, and CG Power Sanand creates a structural demand increase for semiconductor test services in India. Each OSAT facility requires production test programmes for every device family it handles, and those programmes must be developed, validated, and maintained. For new device introductions, test program development can take three to six months and requires access to device samples, test fixtures, and engineers experienced in the specific device technology. Tessolve's location in Bengaluru, combined with its growing network of relationships with Indian chip design companies, positions it to capture a significant share of this test engineering services demand as the cluster scales.

Talent Strategy and Growth Outlook

The semiconductor test engineering talent pool in India is smaller than the chip design talent pool, having historically received less attention from large multinationals. Tessolve is investing in growing this pool through partnerships with engineering colleges to expose final-year electronics students to test engineering as a career, and through internal training programmes that upskill fresh graduates into productive test engineers within twelve to eighteen months. The company expects its revenue to grow substantially over the next three years as OSAT volumes in India increase and as more Indian fabless companies reach tape-out and require post-silicon validation services. A planned expansion into reliability test and qualification services including automotive AEC-Q100 and consumer JEDEC stress tests will broaden Tessolve's service portfolio and improve margins by moving toward higher-value testing categories.
