Bengaluru-based Tessolve Semiconductor has secured a USD 75 million investment from Vector Line Capital, a technology-focused private equity firm, to expand its semiconductor test engineering services and build production test capacity aligned with India's growing OSAT cluster. The capital will fund additional automated test equipment, talent acquisition, and a new test facility to serve the Sanand and Assam semiconductor manufacturing hubs. This is one of the largest private investments in India's semiconductor services sector.

Tessolve Semiconductor, the Bengaluru-based provider of end-to-end chip testing and validation services, has completed a USD 75 million funding round led by Vector Line Capital, a technology-focused private equity firm with a track record of backing scaling businesses in the semiconductor supply chain. The investment is one of the largest private funding rounds in India's semiconductor services sector and reflects the growing recognition that test engineering capability is a critical and currently constrained resource in India's emerging semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem. Tessolve will deploy the capital across three primary areas: expanding its automated test equipment fleet, growing its engineering workforce, and establishing a production test presence physically proximate to the OSAT facilities being built in Sanand, Gujarat and Jagiroad, Assam.
India's semiconductor manufacturing ambitions have been dominated by discussion of wafer fabrication and chip packaging, but the test phase, which validates every packaged chip against its electrical specifications before it ships, is equally important and significantly more talent-intensive per unit of output than many manufacturing steps. Every new chip type requires a custom test program, custom hardware interface fixtures, and engineer-hours of debug and validation before production testing can begin. With Tata Electronics, Kaynes Semicon, CG Power, and HCL-Foxconn all building OSAT capacity in India simultaneously, the demand for test engineering services is growing faster than the available workforce. Tessolve's expansion directly addresses this constraint by adding both equipment and the trained engineers needed to develop and maintain test programs across the range of device types these OSAT facilities will handle.
Tessolve will invest a significant portion of the USD 75 million in additional automated test equipment from vendors including Teradyne and Advantest, covering both functional and parametric test platforms across digital, analogue, mixed-signal, and RF device categories. A new production test facility, likely co-located within or adjacent to one of the Gujarat OSAT clusters, will allow Tessolve to offer on-site production test as a service to OSAT operators who prefer to outsource the test engineering function. The balance of the investment will fund talent acquisition, with Tessolve targeting over 400 new test engineering hires over the next two years, and training programmes that build test engineering skills in graduates of electronics engineering programmes who have not previously encountered semiconductor testing as a career path.
Vector Line Capital's investment thesis rests on the projection that India's semiconductor manufacturing output will grow by an order of magnitude over the next five years as OSAT facilities ramp and as the Dholera fab begins delivering commercial wafers. This growth will require a corresponding increase in test services capacity, and Tessolve's position as the most established independent test engineering services firm in India gives it a structural advantage in capturing that demand. Tessolve's existing NXP certification and its track record with fabless startups provide a reference base that new entrants to the test services market cannot easily replicate. The USD 75 million investment values Tessolve at a significant premium to its current revenue, reflecting the growth embedded in the projection of India's chip manufacturing future.
